Who we are
The Royal Agricultural Society Foundation (RASF) was established in September 2007 with leadership funding from the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) of NSW. Drawing inspiration from the long-standing heritage and mission of the RAS of NSW, the RASF is a philanthropic foundation which seeks to:
- Encourage educational excellence in rural and regional communities, particularly in NSW; and
- Contribute to the development of strong, vibrant and sustainable rural and regional communities.
The RASF has three flagship philanthropic programs:
- E3 Grants – encouraging educational excellence in rural and regional communities.
- The $25,000 Question – helping young people to help their communities.
- Donor-Advised Scholarships – a scholarships program funded by major donors.
Five key principles underpin the work of the RASF:
- We listen and respond to the needs articulated by rural and regional communities;
- We prioritise programs which promote excellence in those communities;
- We collaborate with quality organisations;
- We take a longer-term view; and
- We work with existing resources and avoid ‘reinventing the wheel’.
The RASF Board is comprised of eminent Australians who care about rural and regional communities:
- Mr. J.R. Vickery (Chairman)
- Mr. J.B. Fairfax, AM
- Mr. A.P. Charles
- Mr P. King
